So, some links to short rib recipes as well as some advice on how I seaerch for recipes:
So, this Food wishes site was like the first blog that
really helped me improve my cooking game- because he has videos so you can see
what the meat/veggies should look like at certain points of the cooking
process- you get a better idea of timing and how to mix things and everything
else. So, I usually start my searches for a new dish with this guy- to get a
base idea of how it should be made- then I go look at the second site I’ll
show, where other recipes will have extra ingredients, and that’s how I eventually
come up with perfecting my own style of recipes. So bookmark this guy’s site: http://foodwishes.blogspot.com/
Here is the secondary site where it searches your term across
thousands of food blogs and returns the most popular hits/recipes. So I usually
read 5-10 recipe results and formulate my own idea of how the recipe will go
when I try it: http://foodblogsearch.com/
So, from the first, here are some recipes, where one is a
lamb shank recipe, but you could just sub the beef you bought and do the same-
sounds pretty sweet if you just sub balsamic vinegar for whatever saba is
supposed to be:
As you can see in this second one, there is a lot of vinegar
in the marinade, so my guess that vinegar would play a big part was actually
maybe accurate??? Ha. So, in both, you could use a crockpot instead of
simmering/baking for 3 hours in each case.
He even has a recipe for my Korean short rib recipe now!! http://foodwishes.blogspot.com/2011/04/grilled-korean-style-beef-short-ribs.html
This one seems like the traditional type recipe you’ll find
in a Martha Stewart cookbook or on Food Network recipe search: http://foodwishes.blogspot.com/2010/01/sherry-braised-beef-short-ribs-stick.html
He has plenty more: http://foodwishes.blogspot.com/search/label/Beef#uds-search-results
Aaaaaanyway- then I go to the foodblog search site and see
if there are any interesting headlines, - sometimes I’ll see an Indian spin
on the recipe or basically some other style of the dish:
I add root beer to the search term short rib- oooooh nelly!
I bet your adult root beer would be AWESOME with those short ribs after braising/crockpotting

So yea, just invite me over while/after you cook it…
